The Saint Thomas’ Fund is our ongoing fundraising priority. Contributions are used to make campus-wide enhancements that are not funded with tuition dollars alone. It provides an avenue for the school community — faculty, staff, parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends — to contribute to STE on an annual basis. For more information about The Saint Thomas’ Fund and what it supports, please visit our Saint Thomas’ Fund page.
The STE Legends Fund was established to give donors the option of designating unrestricted gifts to specific STE departments while honoring beloved faculty and staff of the school. All gifts made to the STE Legends Fund are made in memoriam of a faculty or staff member who was employed by the school for a minimum of 10 years. Honorees have all made a lasting impact on the school and its students. For more information on the STE Legends Fund, visit our Saint Thomas’ Fund page.
STE has created a special fund to honor Col. John Hilliard. Each year, the school will award the Col. John E. Hilliard Award for the Outstanding Student in Government to a graduating senior. The scholarship award will go toward college tuition and fees.
Col. John Hilliard, a beloved teacher at STE, passed away on May 2, 2016. From 1990 to 2009, Col. Hilliard taught government and history at STE. He also advised the mock trial team and led them to several local championships and state championships. He was a loyal supporter of STE students in and out of the classroom, attending countless soccer and basketball games as well as chaperoning six trips to Scotland with the pipe band and dancers. He was a stalwart cheerleader.
Among Col. Hilliard’s many legacies are his students, who credit him for helping them succeed in school and beyond. He had a large presence on campus and demanded excellence from his students.
Established in 2009, the STE Endowment Fund provides donors the opportunity to ensure the school’s long-term success.
A healthy endowment eases pressure on the school’s operating budget, provides financial stability in the events of unforeseen circumstances, and allows administrators to pursue initiatives that enhance the school’s ability to be a leader in education. Additionally, gifts help STE attract and retain students through financial aid programs, while providing faculty and staff with educational programs.
Since 1955, Saint Thomas’ Episcopal Church and School has played an integral role in the lives of generations of students and families. The Entry Plaza project allows past, current, and future generations to leave their footprint at STE, while contributing to campus beautification efforts.
Church and school families, faculty and staff, alumni, grandparents, and friends are encouraged to participate in this transformative effort by making a gift in support of the project. Naming opportunities are available on benches, trees, and brick pavers and though general donations. Monetary gifts and personalized items may be made in honor of, or in memory of a loved one, special teacher, mentor, friend, or to commemorate a special occasion or event.
We invite you to support the Entry Plaza Project.
The Birthday Book Club was created to encourage reading while benefiting the STE library. STE parents may join the club by making a $25 donation to the Birthday Book Club. In exchange for this donation, your child may select a new book, from a pre-selected group of appropriate fiction and non-fiction books, to donate to the library. The book is marked with a Birthday Book Club book plate in the child’s honor. Summer birthdays are observed on the half-birthday.
We host a variety of events each year that are geared toward students, parents, and the larger community, as well. Tickets are available for purchase online in advance of each event.
