More than 30 alumni, spouses, and teachers joined together on the 2018 Fall Fair weekend to celebrate the 20-year reunion of the Saint Thomas' class of 1998. Sixteen of the 36 class members — nearly 50% — attended the two-day event, which kicked off on the eve of Fall Fair in the senior lounge of the STE campus. Several more classmates had intended to travel for the reunion, but new babies and last-minute conflicts thwarted their plans.
Classmates came from near and far to reminisce and catch up with old friends. Chris Gilmore received the "farthest travel award," having flown all the way from Toronto, Canada, for the festivities. Other out-of-town attendees included Caleb Haley and family (Louisiana); Jeff Williams and family (Corpus Christi); Andrew and Bridie (Isensee) Chaudoir and family (San Antonio); Ben Rhem and family (Austin); Jenny Slataper Harris and family (Austin).
Many alumni did not recognize the campus, given the significant renovations and new buildings erected over the last 20 years. The classmates also learned about Hurricane Harvey's devastation to the school. After the campus visit, the group enjoyed an adults-only dinner at Escalante's in Meyerland. The alumni continued the celebration on Saturday with their families at the annual Fall Fair.
After such a joyful gathering, the class of 1998 has pledged that they will not wait another 20 years for their next reunion.
