Application Process

Click on the Apply link on stes.org to complete an online application. The priority deadline for submitting applications is January 15.

Click the following links for test registration and details. 

• WPPSI for Kindergarten and 1st grade applicants
• WISC for 2nd through 4th grade applicants
• ISEE for 5th through 12th grade applicants
  Applicants may test at any school administering the ISEE, or they may use the ISEE's at-home option, but scores must be sent to STE using our school code (443433).   

The transcript release form should be submitted to your child’s current school in early December so that their first semester grades are included in the official records the school sends STE.

We will accept official transcripts emailed directly from an employee at the applicant’s current school to admissions@stes.org.

• If applying to Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th, only one teacher recommendation is required. Teacher recommendations can be requested through your password-protected admissions portal. 
• If applying to 6th or higher, two teacher recommendations (one from a Math teacher and one from an English teacher) are required. Teacher recommendations can be requested through your password-protected admissions portal. 

• If applying to Kindergarten-3rd grade, a group observation will be held in mid-February that you may schedule through your password-protected admissions portal. The applicant and one or both parents should be present for the observation. If applying after posted deadlines, and there is remaining availability in the grade, you should schedule an on-campus family interview through your admissions portal.  
• If applying to 4th through 12th grade, you should schedule an on-campus family interview through your password-protected admissions portal.  The applicant and one or both parents should be present for the interview.

The observation or interview should be the last step in completing your admissions file.
