Our focus in grades K-5 is to instill a love of learning and develop academic preparedness:
- Strong foundation in literacy and mathematics
- Engagement in physical education, art, music, science, dance, library learning, recess, and world language/culture
- Provide a solid platform for future studies and beyond
- Electives in later elementary for participation in bagpiping, drumming, choir, and theatre
- Abundant opportunities for families to connect with each other and the school
With over two decades of experience in public, private, and international education, Mr. Franks brings a rich global perspective and proven leadership to his role as Head of Lower School. Prior to joining STE in 2022, he spent 11 years at Wuhan Yangtze International School in China, rising to Director of Curriculum and Principal of Teaching and Learning. Mr. Franks holds a Master of Education in Curriculum Development, a teaching certification, and a B.B.A. in Organizational Behavior, providing a unique background that pairs deep educational expertise with strong organizational leadership.
He is passionate about helping young learners discover their potential, and enjoys traveling, reading, and spending quality time with his family.
