Cursive Writing

During the first week of the first grade year we begin instruction in cursive writing; by the end of the first semester our students are able to prepare written assignments using cursive script.

The early introduction of cursive handwriting provides students with a better method for written expression, enabling them to produce in precise form a greater volume of written work.

Importance of Handwriting

Recent studies about hand writing confirm what STE has believed for years. According to an October 5, 2010 article in the Wall Street Journal, writing by hand not only helps students to learn how to make shapes and letters, but also improves idea composition and expression, and aids fine motor skill development.
