  • On-campus visits from college admissions representatives

  • Annual fall kick-off evening programs for all high school families

  • College essay editing and brainstorming help

  • Mock interviews for college interviews and scholarships

Resources & Tools

  • Weekly “Counseling News” newsletter including scholarship information and tips for the application process

  • Monthly workshops on the college search process

  • Comprehensive college counseling web portal with links to scholarships, articles, instructional handouts, and other resources

Skills for the Road Ahead

  • Emphasis on personal responsibility. At STE, students are expected to lead the way: they are fully in charge of their search and decision process. Parents and staff help facilitate the process.

  • Focus on developing the student’s professional persona, including developing appropriate online etiquette (e.g., having an adult email address) and correspondence skills.
