Admissions Process
Campus Visits
Your first step in the admissions process should be a tour of the school. Tours are held by appointment between 8 a.m and 4 p.m.
If you are interested in kindergarten, kindergarten observation* dates in October and November are listed under Key Admission Dates. Observation goes from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. Call the office at 713-666-3111 to make an appointment.
*Observations are for parents only... no children please.
Application Timing
We accept applications for grades 1-12 starting one year prior to the school start date. Bridge and kindergarten applications are accepted earlier than the one-year rule. Siblings, legacies, and church members are given priority consideration as long as they submit applications prior to the legacy/sibling deadline in October.
Testing
Kindergartners are tested at the school with kindergarten teachers using a 30-minute assessment. Kindergarten testing is done in late January. Click Key Admission Dates for exact dates.
Students entering 1st through 4th grades are tested at the school using an abbreviated Stanford Achievement Test. When applying, please enclose a copy of last year’s Stanford scores if your child has taken that test.
Students entering grades 5th through 12th will need to take the ISEE test. This test may be taken at our school or at many other local private schools. Go to http://www.iseetest.org/ to register. Our ISEE school code is 443433.
Headmaster Interview
Once students are tested, those with acceptable test scores will be invited back for an interview. Interviews are conducted by Melissa Vogeley, Head of Lower School, Dale King, Head of High School, and Michael Cusack, Headmaster. The Headmaster will decide which students will be given offers based on availability. When there are more qualified students than available spots, offers are made in order of application date.
