STE Chapel Traditions
Saint Thomas’ Episcopal School incorporates several of its own traditions into our daily chapel.
Members of the senior class are actively involved in chapel, and are assigned a rotating schedule for daily and weekly readings.
Another chapel tradition we practice is saying the below prayer for students, faculty and staff members during service on their birthdays.
Watch over thy children as their days increase; bless and guide them wherever they may be, keeping them unspotted form the world. Strengthen them when they stand; comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful; raise them up if they fall; and in their hearts may thy peace which passeth understanding abide all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
On Mondays the student body joins together in singing our school song.
On Fridays, the student body recites that week’s memory verse, which complements the lessons taught that week.
The Monday following the issuance of report cards, we invite parents to join us as the Dean’s List and Honor Roll is read. Students in grades 4-12 with a 3.5 GPA are named to the Honor Roll, while students achieving a 4.0 or greater GPA are included in the Dean’s List.
