The college counseling program at Saint Thomas’ Episcopal School is a comprehensive advising process that spans the high school years. This process includes:
A Personalized Search with Powerful Results
- Two to three hours of daily office hours for students
- One-on-one meetings between parents and the counselor
- Personalized college search for every student, developed with the counselor
- On-campus visits from college admissions representatives
- Annual fall kick-off evening programs for all high school families
- Monthly workshops on the college search process
- College essay editing and brainstorming help
- Mock interviews for college interviews and scholarships

- Weekly “Counseling News” newsletter including scholarship information and tips for the application process
- Comprehensive college counseling web portal with links to scholarships, articles, instructional handouts, and other resources
- “Summer Web Portal” online resource including information on summer jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities
- College Counseling Summer Blog, including a liveblog of staff and students' college visits from around the country
- Counseling library, including college-specific information, financial aid resources, and general information on the college search process
Skills for the Road Ahead
- Emphasis on personal responsibility. At STES, students are expected to lead the way: they are fully in charge of their search and decision process. Parents and staff help facilitate the process.
